I am a Texas born actor who began his career portraying a blind child, with one three-word line (“Don’t go Annie”), in THE MIRACLE WORKER my freshman year at West Orange High School in Orange, Texas. Being the first of my family to delve into this incredible universe of the performing arts opened the door to my future. Theatre became the world where I discovered who I was and what I could become. I would continue to hone my craft over the next fifty years through my work as a theatrical educator and a performer in community theatre, collegiate theatre, graduate school, professional outdoor theatre, professional dinner theatre, even a national tour of the musical JEKYLL AND HYDE and a production of HELLO DOLLY! with the legendary Marilyn Maye.
I presently reside in New York City working with various theatrical, film, and television companies. If our paths have crossed at an audition, you may recognize me as the mature older gentleman in a vast sea of young artists working towards booking that next contract.
Yes, I was the first “theatrical” member of my family but definitely not the last. I met the love of my life, my wife Sara, in the theatre. Forty-six years later we are the proud parents of two incredible offspring. Our oldest, Jessica, along with her husband Eric Anderson, have amassed numerous Broadway credits in their own theatrical journeys. We are also very proud of our multi-talented son, Benjamin. Ben is the co-founder and Artistic Director of the nationally recognized Wellesley Theatre Project. Thanks to Mr. Ben, Sara and I have also been blessed with a theatrically skilled and talented daughter in law, Jennie McGuinness. Last and certainly not least we are thankful for our two beautiful and precious grandchildren, Elliot Elizabeth Anderson and Archie Napoleon Rush!
Life experiences create a great foundation for any actor to build performances on. That being the case......I am definitely headed for a Tony or an Oscar!
